Parking Citations

NOTE:  Most parking citations written after January 1, 2012 will be classified as civil citations and under the jurisdiction of the Office of Administrative Hearing (civil court). Parking citations written prior to January 1, 2012 are classified as criminal citations and still under the jurisdiction of Municipal Court (criminal court). Your citation will identify which court your citation falls under for the purposes of payment or contesting.

ALL disabled parking and fire lane citations will remain criminal and under the jurisdiction of Municipal Court regardless of the date of issue. For all criminal parking citations, disabled parking citations and fire lane citations, contact the Municipal Court or go to Municipal Court website for contact information and payment options.

FOR ALL CIVIL PARKING CITATIONS WRITTEN AFTER JANUARY 1, 2012, see the instructions below:

The intent of the Corpus Christi Police Department, Parking Control and the Civil Court is to make your process as simple and quick as possible. After you are issued a parking citation, you must either pay or contest the citation within 10 calendar days of the date the citation was written. After 10 calendar days, there will be an automatic finding of liable and you forfeit the right to a hearing on your citation.

Making Payments

To take advantage of the Early Discounted Payment, you must submit full payment on or before the 10th calendar day from the date the citation was written. If you mail your payment, the post mark date will determine whether your payment is on time or late. See payment options and locations below, including a simple online payment.

Payment Options and Locations

There are now four ways to pay civil parking citations for your convenience:

1.Pay OnlineParking Citation Online Payment Center* - pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa)
2.By phone*
Pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa), call the Corpus Christi Citation Processing Center toll-free at 1-866-449-7565.
3.In Person

You may pay with EXACT CASH AND/OR CHANGE, check or money order. There is no change available at the court and cash payments are accepted at the electronic kiosk at the counter. Checks and money orders must include citation number and are dropped in the drop-box attached to the counter.

4.Mailing

Mail a personal check or money order for the full amount to the Corpus Christi Citation Processing Center, P.O. Box 6010, Inglewood, Ca. 90312-6010. DO NOT SEND CASH!  Make check or money order payable to the City of Corpus Christi and include the citation number.

If you mail or make a payment that is less than the total amount due, see Partial or Late Payment section below.

* NOTE: For Online and Phone payments, please wait at least 12 hours from date of issue for electronically issued citations and up to 72 hours for hand-written citations to be entered into the system. You may walk-in with a citation at any time after issue during the hours of operation. Your citation can be entered on the spot to save you a return trip.Parking Citation Court address:

  1. Appearing in person within the 10 calendar days at the Office of Administrative Hearings location listed below or;
  2. By calling the Corpus Christi Citation Processing Center toll-free at 1-866-449-7565.

Extension requests are not guaranteed and must fall within the established guidelines of the Civil Hearing Court.

Contesting a Parking Citation

To contest a parking citation, you must appear in person before a Hearing Officer, within the 10 calendar days from the date the citation was written, at the Office of Administrative Hearings (address above) between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday (except city holidays) or by calling toll free 1-866-449-7565 to set a hearing date. There is no scheduling for a later date necessary. Hearing Officers are on duty during all scheduled court hours and available to hear your case on a first come – first served basis. Those with tight schedules may call and schedule a time for a hearing. This scheduled hearing will be prioritized above non-scheduled hearings. There is no additional charge for contesting a citation to be heard by a Hearing Officer in the civil court.

Partial or Late Payments

If you pay less than the total fine due, we will post the payment. However, you must pay the remainder of the fine by the 10 calendar days past the issue date to insure the lower fee. Partial payments will not cancel a boot or tow order that is in place.

Failure to Pay

Vehicles with outstanding parking citations are subject to booting (vehicle held in place by a restraining device) and/or towing at the vehicle owners expense, an additional boot or tow fee, a 30% additional collection fee after 90 days late, vehicle registration holds on the vehicle and any additional collection fees warranted.

To get a boot or towed vehicle released, you must contact the Office of Administrative Hearings (Civil Court) and pay all fees requested on that vehicle and any additional outstanding citations on any other vehicle registered to the same owner or post a bond for the full amount due and request a hearing.

Not Your Vehicle / Previously Sold Vehicle Prior to the Time of Violation

If you no longer owned the vehicle at the time of violation, please print and complete the Affidavit of Ownership Form and provide the necessary information for the Court to verify ownership. If you have a transfer of title as proof that the vehicle is no longer your vehicle, the transfer of title should include the name and address of the new owner and the date the vehicle was sold or transferred. You will continue to receive notices if additional tickets are received as long as the state shows the title in your name.

To provide documentation and explain why the parking citations in question do not belong to you, contact or appear at:

Office of Administrative Hearings
Parking Control Operations Manager
615 Leopard St., Suite# 106
Corpus Christi, TX 78401
