| The Traffic Signal section operates and maintains |
Signalized intersections along Hwy 77, Hwy 358 (Padre Island Drive), Hwy 268 (Crosstown Expressway) and Hwy 37 access roads are managed and maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)
Eight Traffic Signal Technicians maintain the signal network, responding to any trouble calls within the hour for all dark signals and within three hours for flashing signals, on a 24-hour basis. The Traffic Signals section uses some of the most advanced technology available to manage these intersections effectively and efficiently. Each intersection is computer based, and is controlled by an array of specialized electronic equipment. |
