In addition to ongoing recreation programs, athletic leagues, and arts and cultural events, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department continuously offers a variety of special programs throughout the year.

A beach festival and event is any form of entertainment including, but not limited to, performances, contests, or any combination thereof on a public beach, which is scheduled to continue in excess of three hours, where: 

  1. More than 100 persons are anticipated to be in attendance any day.
  2. The performance occurs inside the boundaries of the City of Corpus Christi.

 

Outdoor Music Festivals

 

Want to have a jam session at Cole Park? Or how about a festival honoring St. Patrick’s Day with music and dance? If so, call your Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department at 361-826-3417 to make your reservation and get started on your permit application.

 

Fast Facts

An outdoor music festival and event is any form of musical entertainment provided by live performances, on public property, which is scheduled to continue in excess of three hours, where: 

  1. More than 1,500 persons are anticipated to be in attendance any day.
  2. The performance occurs inside the boundaries of the City of Corpus Christi.
  3. Any of the performers or any of the audience are not within a permanent enclosed structure or area.

 

When filing for a permit application with the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department, the application must be filed at LEAST 70 days before the day the outdoor music festival is to begin.

 

Weddings

 

We know how special your wedding day is, so why not say your "I Do"s under a bright, blue Texas sky. From the Rose Garden in Heritage Park to the gazebo in Artisan Park to a wedding on the waves, the City of Corpus Christi offers a variety of special wedding locations to hold your ceremony or reception.

 

On City Grounds

Reserve one of the beautiful properties maintained by the City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department. These facilities include indoor and outdoor accommodations, such as Cole Park, West Guth Senior Center, and the gazebo at Artisan Park. Capacity varies. In Heritage Park

Heritage Park, located at 1581 N. Chaparral, includes the Galván House, Courtyard, and the Lytton Memorial Rose Garden. All are available for private rentals. To make your reservation or for more information, please call 361-826-3415.

 

On the Beach

For couples looking to plan an exotic island wedding, the City of Corpus Christi offers something few places can match. Whether you’re planning an intimate “barefoot” beachfront ceremony for two or a grand ceremony with 200 guests, you can set your wedding at Corpus Christi North Beach, McGee Beach and Padre Island to make your experience larger than life. APPLICATION FORMS

 

Fill out your information and print the forms and submit back to the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department at the Galván House in Heritage Park (1581 N. Chaparral Street;(map)). For all events, you will need to complete the Agreement and the Indemnity Agreement form. If there will be alcohol present at your event, please complete the Alcohol User Agreement.
